Innovative product (The Wii)

1) I think the Wii is an innovative product because it boasts powerful new motion-sensing controllers that make game play both more entertaining and more active. In specially designed games, such as the one you see at the beginning, you can use a stuffed animal to control the game.

SAP Distribution Game

1) After we finished the SAP Distribution Game, my team finished in third behind the T group and the teachers group.  Although we didn't have the most products sold, we were able to sell our products for more than most teams because we used great marketing techniques.  During the game I was in charge of changing the prices as we saw fit.
2) The SAP game was based solely on profit however in real life it isn't all about profit.  It also about marketing.  Businesses such as Nike and Adidas who have great marketing techniques are able to sell more products.
3) During the game I thought everything went well until the very end when some of the lemon spritz water weren't selling, but we kept restocking it anyways.  If we would have only restocked the products that were selling, we would have made a lot more profit.
4) I learned a bunch of things during this activity such as only restocking products that sell and how to market.

Apple Employee

During the beginning of the semester my attitude was that companies should not be able to fire people for things that they post on the internet.  After reading many different articles about the subject I have changed my mind.  I now believe that people should be able to get fired over things they say.  For example if you are scheduled to work, but you have tickets to go see a sports game and you call in sick and you post things on the internet, then you should definitely get fired.  In the the case with the Apple Employee, he should definitely be fired because he was talking negatively about his own store he worked in.

Decision Making Software

I currently use a few software's to help me make decisions.  First of all I use Gullnet to help me make choices about what classes I want to take.  Gullnet allows me to look up all the classes that are offered at Salisbury as well as all the different professors that teach them and the different times that they're available.  I also occasionally use the software Windows Live Movie Maker on projects for my own pleasure.  This software lets me put video clips from my camera and cut them and make cool little movies.  I am also able to add sound to them.

Plagiarism in College

The use of technology has been an important part in catching people who like to plagiarize because now teachers can go online an see where kids are getting their information from.

Some ways colleges are trying to stop it is to have honor codes where kids sign to not plagiarize, but it's still not helping to much.

Ethics in My Life

When i was in high school, I was in the National Honor Society.  I was also on the football team.  The NHS meetings were always after school and would run for about 45 minutes.  My football practice was also after school.  A few football players and I would always come out a few minutes late because of this.  One time the kids asked me if I want to go to Burger King and skip half of practice.  I knew this was a bad idea so I told them I was going to go to practice.  I'm glad I made that decision because now when I get faced with tough decisions like that, I always chose the right thing.

Our Failing Education System

There are many things that people will find online about how our school systems are failing the students. I personally think that the schools are babying the kids. They aren't trying to push the students to learn more things, they are just learning the basic things.

I think if teachers start teaching kids extra things, our school systems will make a big time improvement.

Technology in the Classroom

Technology has played a very big part in learning for everyone in the world.  Devices such as Computers, phones, and television have played a huge part in learning for people especially me.  Computers hold so much information on them now, you can basically find any fact on them.  I use them for research for papers and also to watch film for football.  Cell phones have also played a big part in learning.  For example if you have to interview someone, instead of emailing them back and forth, you can just call them and talk to them very easily.  The last thing I think has played a huge part is television.  Shows such as ESPN and History channel teach us things every day.
